Today we learn about Vray Old Metal Material Tutorial. Learn to create Vray Old Metal Material in 3ds max and v-ray by following some basic and simple steps as given below.
Step 1: Select object’s on which you want to assign Vray Old Metal Material. Then open material editor (by Pressing shortcut M). Then click on standard option and Select VRayMtl from the list and assign it to your objects.(also make sure that the object has to be unwrapped)
Step 2: Now apply this Setting’s for Vray Old Metal Material.
Put the Old metal texture into Reflect parameter also drag and drop same Old diffuse texture into RGlossiness (download the texture from link below)

Set the Subdivs to 12 – (increasing subdivs can give u batter output but it will increase render time too)
Set the Max depth to 10
Turn on Fresnel reflections and click on L to change Fresnel IOR value and set the value to 30
Now Scroll down and Go to Maps – put the same Old Metal Texture into Bump parameter and set bump parameter value to 10 or you can set the value according to your requirement.
( Remember higher value will give you high bump effect)
Also I renamed the material name to Old metal
Here is the final output of Vray Old Metal Material using my simple Lighting setup in 3ds max and v-ray.
