How to make 3D text in Photoshop CC


This tutorial will Teach you most classic and popular effect How to make 3D text using Photoshop CC.

At the end of tutorial you will learn to make your own 3D text in Photoshop CC  *(note: for this Tutorial you will compulsory need Photoshop CC  )*


Step 1. Create a new file. Set the width & height according to requirement.( I set Width-1280, height- 720, Resolution-100)


Step 2. Now click on a text tool under tool bar & type your text.


Step 3:  Right click on text layer and apply 3D Extrusion from selected layer.

Step 4. Now change material of the text. Go to 3D tab and click on front inflation material and choose the material of your choice.

Click on Extrusion material for apply material to back side of text.

Step 5. Right click on background layer and click on a postcard.


Step 6. select the text and background layer and Marge them >> Go to the layer tab and merge Layer or Press shortcut Shift + e


Step 7. Now Go to 3D menu and hit render option.

Step 8. Now right click on a layer and apply Rasterize 3D.

Create a new layer.


Step 9. Select background layer and pick magic wand tool under tool bar. Then pick and make selection as shown in below image. Now Duplicate selected area by pressing shortcut Ctrl+j or Ctrl+C (copy) and paste it (Ctrl+V) on new layer.


Step 10. To add a outline to the text. Click on add a layer style and enable stroke option.

Set size and color of the stroke as of your choice


You can also enable color overlay and change text color.

Step 11. Then click on an adjustment layer and select color balance. In color balance properties, Set the values as shown in below image to get same output or set it as of your choice.


Step 12. Adjust Brightness & contrast to look more attractive.(also try to play with levels)
