This Tutorial will cover How to convert daytime image into a night time image step by step in Photoshop.
step 1: Duplicate main layer and go to “Layer Style”. (by double-clicking on layer)
Step 2: a) Enable Color Overlay. b) Change the blend mode to color. c) Choose the color #56c1ff
Step 3: enable gradient overlay >>Select the gradient white-blue >>Now set the blending mode to color burn.
Step 4: Now to remove bright sky, Now select “Eyedropper”>>choose the similar blue color of sky. (little dark)
Once you choose the color Go to >>”Brush tool” and and start painting over sky before that set >>brush opacity minimum (i set it to 20) make sure correct layer is selected.
Result after painting :
Step 5: Now create “New Layer”>> Select Gradiant Tool>> and set it to Black and other side is transparent by seting opacity to 0%
Now draw the gradient up-words in sky & set “Layer Opacity” to 75%
Step 6: Now we are gonna paint stars manually (Layer renamed to star)
For that Select brush tool>>go to brush panel settings >> enable “Scattering” and “Dule Brush” and apply settings as shown in image
Open >>”brush preset picker” (shortcut : right click on image while selecting brush tool) >>Select “Pixel size” to 1 and “Hardness” to 100% and start painting randomly over sky .
Once u randomly painted over sky >> open Layer Style of “stars Layer” >>Outer Glow>> Blending Mode “Screen”>>Opacity 25%>>choose similar sky blue color for glow>> play with “spread” and “size” settings. (For more realistic result I moved stars layer below layer 1)
Add moon (if required) : I used this moon png image (there is lot of moon images on google) i choosed this one, you can download it and use it in your project.
Place the moon according to your requirements.
Then go to “Layer Style” of moon layer >>”Inner Glow”>>Blending mode “screen”>> Opacity 65% >>choke:11% size: 68px (play with this settings)
Now Enable “Outer Glow”>>Blanding mode : “Screen”>> Opacity 40% to 50% (play with spread and size settings )
THE FINAL RESULT WE GET . . . .
